Anthony Sassano, co-founder of research platform EthHub, said the final decision on the date will be made at the core developers meeting on July 9.

The Ropsten, Goerli, and Rinkeby testnets rolled out the update over the past few weeks. The London update follows the Berlin update that went live in April.

London will delay Ethereum’s mining difficulty bomb – a move that will make mining the network significantly harder – and the move towards the network’s long-awaited Proof of stake consensus until December, as it is not yet fully ready. Other EIPs based in London aim to simplify the pricing of transaction fees.
